Our Story
Every great bakery starts with a love story, ours just happens to be with Europe itself.
Rooted in European Tradition
Long before 729 Bake House had a name, it had a flavor, the smell of a fresh pretzel from a Bavarian street stall, the quiet ritual of a slow-proofed brioche, the kind of loaf cake you find in nearly every corner of Europe, each region claiming it as their own.
Our pretzels are still finished the traditional Bavarian way, dipped in a baking soda solution rather than lye, which is what gives them that deep golden color and signature chew. Our brioche is proofed slowly, the way it's meant to be. Our loaf cakes follow the same traditions found across the continent; rich, buttery, nothing like the mass-produced version most of us grew up with here in the States.
Meet the Bakers
We're a husband-and-wife team, and above all, foodies; the kind who plan entire trips around where we're going to eat. Chasing incredible food across Europe became one of our favorite shared adventures: small village bakeries, corner patisseries, open-air markets that smelled like fresh bread before you even turned the corner.
That dream became real experience. Time spent working hands-on within a European bakery shaped the way we bake today, real technique, honest method, and recipes true to European tradition rather than the American versions most of us grew up eating.
Made By Hand, In Small Batches
Nothing here comes off a factory line. Every pretzel, loaf, and pastry is made by hand, in small batches, from start to finish, which means more care in every step, and a final product that actually tastes like someone made it just for you.
